Our 60 lb. long legged boxer will not go in the XL house except to retrieve things we place very close to the entrance. The lack of windows is intimidating to him. He is used to an XL Petmate plastic crate so it's not that he hasn't been confined. In fact he voluntarilty goes in his crate every evening for bed. We wasted our money.

      [...] It was already put together except the dog door which was nice but you have to take it apart to install door, not an easy task, need a better design for the door. The door doesn't cover the opening completely. The cushion is nice but I don't think it is sturdy enough for large dogs with large paws and nails, even after clipping dogs nails they can tear it. Other than that it is good, but if you have a large dog an extra large still is not all that large, they have to bend down alot to get in and stay bent until they reach the center, I would not recommend for Mastiff, Great Dane or such as that-hmm what I have and I don't like to see them bend so low.

      We bought this for our Siberian Husky. She got separation anxiety everytime we tried to leave her alone at home, and crating was unbelieveably traumatic for her. She LOVES being outside even in zero degree weather so we decided to get her a doghouse for the elements and let her stay outside when we are gone for short periods. Put treats in the Igloo the first day and she likes it a lot. Goes in and out of it, doesn't stay in it during snow cause she loves laying in the snow, but definitely likes the house to be there, likes the cushion and goes in and out at will, it is well constructed and am thinking that she will actually use it more in the summer to stay cool.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
