Description

Petmate's® new Vari Kennel® Ultra enhances the proven design of the classic Vari Kennel with revolutionary features. The Ultra edition boasts an easy-open squeeze latch, metal side vents and an interior moat to keep pets dry. New "Fast-Nut" hardware provides quick assembly. There's even tie-down strap holes molded in around the door perimeter. These holes allow the user to install a plastic zip-tie through the kennel and around the door for extra security during airline travel. Size medium's dimensions are: 32L x 22.5W x 24H inches.

    Vari Kennels are durable and long lasting. I have vari kennels that are over 10yrs old and still wash up great. I have also bought the newer ones with the rounded corners even though they are the same size as the square cornered ones they appear to take less room due to the rounded corners. I have been breeding American Bulldogs since 1996 and have only used Vari kennels from puppy size to large adult size and I recomend them highly to the buys of my puppies.They wash up easily and come apart easily, and very durable. They come in sizes that fir the growth of your dog.

    I believe this to be a downgrade from the previous model Deluxe Vari Kennel. Though I never really cared for the latches used to join the 2 halves of the older model, the dial door closure worked well and securely closed. It has been replaced with the pinch type that seems to never latch without messing with it.
    The plastic of this new model is thinner and lighter weight than the previous model. The stacking protrusions make for an uneven floor and wasted space in the bottom of the crate. This is a less desireable floor design than the previous model that had a "moat" around the entire floor of the crate.
    I have 3 of the older model Deluxe Vari Kennel, have been using them for years and been satisfied with their performance. This, however is a definite downgrade in quality from what I have come to expect from Petmate.

    The crate came on time via Fed Ex and was very easy to assemble. My dog loves it and has plently of room to move around. Would buy from hayneedle again.

      Our 30 lb. terrier needed a little roomier home to sleep in at night. He's been crate trained from a puppy and sleeps well at night when crated. This is a nice size for him ... large enough to spread out in, but not so large he's "lost" in it.
